During the residency programme Franc Paredes continued and deepened his research on collaborative art and sustainable and regenerative development in the context of climate change, which is carried out with the support of the UNTREF ‘ Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero and its Instituto de Investigación en Arte y Cultura.
On this occasion, it delved into Neo Extractivist practices, collaboratively carrying out a first sensitive mapping that served as a contribution to the work that TXP is carrying out on the subject.
This action-research aimed to generate a first approach to understand the complex web of causes and effects generated by globalised financial speculation. At the same time, in a collaborative way, it was proposed to make visible the practices that question and provide possible alternative paths through art, offering this as a resource for new artistic projects.
Franc Paredes (ARG). Visual artist and cultural manager. Currently his work in the field of art addresses the intersection between artistic practices and socio-environmental issues. He manages and advises community advocacy projects, promoting collaborative management and the crossing of disciplines and knowledge.
He started in the visual arts through photography. In the early 90s he began to work with collage on a permanent basis, first with the remains of posters from the street and then with all kinds of materials, to reach the creation of objects, installations and video art. His work has been exhibited in Buenos Aires in spaces such as: Fundación Proa, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Centro Cultural San Martín, internationally in Galería Calatraba - Memorial de América Latina and CESCI Pompei (Brazil) and Espacio Nexus and Casa Tres Patios (Colombia).
He is founder of La Paternal Espacio (laboratory and residency - https://lapaternalespacioproyecto.com.ar/). He is also co-founder member of the art and environment network Ambart (2019), of AVAA Artistas Visuales Autoconvocades Argentina (2020) and of QUINCHO network of art residencies in Argentina (2020).
In the academic field, he is part of the teaching team of the UNTREF - Universidad de Tres de Febrero in the Master in electronic arts (2017 - present) and the diploma in Environmental Humanities at the crossroads of art, science and technology at the same university.
