OTHER RESIDENCES

︎︎︎Residence “Both dark and bright at the same time” by Claudio Correa (CL)

January to april 2022

A research and production proyect by artist Claudio Correa (CL)* that explored the peripheral sphere of soccer and its industry, focusing his interest on women's and neighborhood soccer clubs in the areas of Vallecas -the urban context where Espacio de Todo is located- and Lavapiés -where the artist currently resides in Madrid. The project addressed his concern for social archeology through the collection of objects, the recording and transcription of interviews with female soccer players in order to generate visual narratives that inquire into the everyday environment about different ways of understanding the practice of sports: success and failure, based on a lowering of expectations regarding their differences, establishing parallels with the artistic and social sphere.

This visual research is framed within his experimentation with visual devices that reconstitute the photographic act, through flashes that project shadows and reflections of objects, coins and inscriptions that are superimposed generating small animations.

PROCESS OPENING

On Saturday, April 23, 2022, the artist held the opening of his residency process in the space, where he was able to show the results of his research in a manner open to the public. As has already been instituted, the artist told his work through food, which this time was "choripanes con pebre", a typical street food and soccer in Chile.
