︎︎︎ IMMERSION
November 7, 2022 to January 15, 2023In this new cycle, we wanted to carry out a research residency on the Anarchive that would make it possible to generate a non-traditional order of the contents that enter and leave it. In a creative way, we wanted to generate a dynamic cartography of the collection that would expand towards other modes of safeguarding, as well as freeing it by opening it up to the public both physically and digitally.

Reviewing, reading, re-reading, categorising, de-categorising, tensing, questioning. Her research took this route and others that emerged in the search for the unsaid in the dispute for counter-categories in a cultural field of information orderin traditionally dominated by the logic of accumulation and dispossession. The research set out to rummage, rummage, rummage and, from there, to approach the possibility of constructing other horizontal and organic narratives.
*Kena Kokaly (CL) is a literature researcher and cook. Her areas of interest are the processes of memory and the tensions with the modes of discursive implementation of the neoliberal model. She has participated in international conferences and she has been invited as a visiting professor at various universities in Latin America and Europe. Her current focus of interest is
on the search for the unsaid in modes of artistic representation.

Proposal for counter-categories and rhizomatic order in the digital programme.

︎︎︎ Proces opening “IMMERSION”
January 13, 2023
This process of opening is the first stage of contact with the Anarchivo del Espacio de Todo, which explores the meaning of cataloguing and how a way of linking is constructed on the basis of the concept of ‘category’. The different approaches sought to dynamise the materials in the Anarchivo from a rhizomatic proposal of ordering, in constant growth and mutation.
The process included, at first, a review of the materials that make up the Anarchivo with their different origins and supports. At the same time, there were interviews and conversations with artists and collectives that have situated their work with the Espacio de Todo and have fed the Anarchivo with their work. With this information, plus a theoretical reading of the forms of anarchivistic cataloguing, it was decided to consider some basic counter-categories that would allow fluid and user-friendly access to the collection available in terms of an ordering that links by theme and proposes a different cartography.
‘Immersion’ allowed the resident to investigate and put in tension the usual hegemonic contents that are available when it comes to ordering materials for their subsequent use. A category implies a positioning, a stance, and a non-category as well. How to make visible the questioning of the hegemonic stance? How not to fall back into the same possibility of justifying a place of enunciation that is within the neo-liberal binary logic?
The answer may lie precisely in the crisis.
In the opening process, the journey made during the research residency was detailed and, above all, it was filled with questions that detonate the path to follow. The artist decided to cook gnocchi to explain her process, a recipe that invites collective cooking and conversation, as well as mutual collaboration for its result, making an analogy of what the anarchive seeks to be.
