Under this scope of programming we invite artists and/or collectives to carry out a process of research and creation of work that works directly with current political, social and cultural issues, that is, to work with elements to be reviewed from the critical and symbolic capacity of artistic practice, generating counter-narratives that question the ways in which the official stories and histories are constructed from the powers that be.

For the cycle "The Bad Herbs Club" we wanted to vary the format of the residency. We propose the research and elaboration of a graphic image to each of the invited artists and collectives, who will send them in digital format so that we as Todo por la Praxis can produce a piece that will intervene the public space at the border of Melilla. This project arises not only because of the deaths occurred at the hands of the police in June 2022, but above all because of the daily reality that circumscribes this border and the ways and imaginaries that Spanish society has about it.

In this first edition, the aim was to unveil institutional racism through the reality of precarious temporary migrants, alluding to the discrimination and violation of the rights of illegal workers both in the south of Spain and in the country's large cities. To initiate this way of addressing these conflicts, in 2021 we ourselves as Todo por la Praxis carried it out, to promote this work methodology of the collective.
